bmurator German Psychedelic Doom Metal. This is a total debut & it is simply divine! The combination of female vocals with sax & doom is just too much for me... I fall in love over & over again with every song... :) Then I hit repeat! I am very excited about where these talented guys will go next! Love the cover too! Highly recommended!!!

Rob Hammer I'm not a big fan of the use of sax in doom but next to REZN I can add URSULAR to the list of bands that do it very well! their debut full-length album makes my top-10 easily and the singer will sometimes blow you away when she ROARS!!
MelLie
MelLie thumbnail
MelLie I have been more than eagerly awaiting this album and now I feel thoroughly "ursular"! This is a doom majesty par excellence! The sound carries your soul into a heavily hypnotizing underworld and makes it dance in oblivious trance in the round dance with the devil and his ghostly entourage!

FDJ (Desert Psychlist) First Eight Foot Manchild appear offering something they call "Doombrass" and now these guys turn up with something they are dubbing "Saxodoom". To be honest i like both but i think this one is just shading it.

about

Ursular, the Saxodoom band from Berlin, presents their long-awaited debut album, Preta. With unrelenting drums, cutting guitars, thundering bass, and a mesmerizing saxophone, Ursular's sound is a journey through the wasteland of restless souls.
Preta tells the story of hunger ghosts, who are driven by an insatiable desire for life and its endless possibilities. Ursular's music perfectly complements the mysterious and haunting vocals that narrate the tales of these ghosts. This album is a must-have for anyone who loves powerful and intense music that takes them on a journey through the darkest corners of the human psyche.

about

Ursular Berlin, Germany

Hailing from Berlin, this heavy-playing fourpiece was brought together by their love for beer and amplifier-induced trance states. Like a slow trudging bear with a fuzzy pelt, electric claws and a melodic singing voice, the female-fronted outfit is looking to bring their very own mix of Doom and Heavy Psychedelic Rock to the stoner caves of this world. ... more
